Dear Colleagues,

The entire last month was spent in Guatemala. My objective was to deeply understand this country, its people, and its issues, and to strengthen my connection with it.

I traveled extensively throughout the country, attempting to familiarize myself with various regions.

The journey began in the area known as Rio Dulce, situated along a river. Here, people live their entire lives on the river, and all daily activities and commerce are conducted via boats. Livingston is the main city here, accessible only by water. The culture and society are influenced by Caribbean nations due to historical settlement by their people many years ago.

Following Rio Dulce, I undertook a long journey through remote valleys, gaining insight into the poverty of this country. The 8-10 hour trip revealed rugged roads and stark poverty. Living conditions were harsh, yet amidst this adversity, natural beauty was also evident. We spent time in the Chemuc Champey area, famous for its waterfalls and rivers.

Quetzaltenango, or Xela, was the next significant city where we spent time. Here, we experienced the hustle and bustle, traffic, and pollution typical of urban areas. Despite this, the region boasts abundant natural beauty, surrounded by mountains and volcanoes, and retains a traditional indigenous influence in its attire and people.

Continuing our journey, we participated in a land blessing ceremony in Pacaya Guatemala. Organized with Mayan rituals, it deepened our appreciation for the cultural richness here. Monica organized this event, facilitated by two traditional female priests. The ceremony included traditional rituals and blessings from ancestral spirits.

Following this event, we hosted all our friends based in Guatemala at a gathering where we shared our joy. We invited a traditional music group that uses ancient instruments and blends them with natural sounds, providing a wonderful experience. We also served pure vegetarian meals, which were greatly appreciated by our guests. Our team presented our first site map, which received praise from our guests.

Subsequently, we spent two weeks in the northern region of Flores, where I practiced Spanish and explored the area’s history. It is an incredible historic region, once the center of the ancient Mayan civilization, with many old structures still visible today. We took a helicopter tour of the El Mirador area and spent time in Tikal, the most important site for this civilization. This area is rich in water and offers many beautiful sights. I also had the opportunity to explore ancient remedies with Monica during this trip.

This journey has been fulfilling, achieving many of our goals.

Congratulations to all of you. With Himanshu’s dedicated efforts, we have initiated the process of fundraising for Project Kawok. The project now amounts to approximately 2800 crore, and we are confident of success with all of us working together. Financial activities have also advanced for Project Jagriti, with the consent of our board to raise equity.

Thanks to Jagdeep and the team’s efforts, we have appointed the French company Elimein as our machine partner. Deepak has joined us as a project leader, which will accelerate our project’s progress and pace.

I have devoted considerable time and attention to our structure and organization to ensure we achieve our set goals. It is crucial for all of us to cultivate the habit of achieving these goals together, aligning with our larger objectives.
