Life Skills Through Storytelling: Workshop for Youth and Children Held in Ayodhya
Pakka Foundation, in collaboration with Potli Productions and The Hyphen, organized a two-day workshop in Ayodhya for Industrial Training Institute (ITI) students and local school children to equip them with essential life skills and engage parents in discussions about aspirations and family support. The workshop emphasized the importance of teaching life skills from an early age through creative media and storytelling, focusing on communication, emotional intelligence, problem-solving, and decision-making.
Sarita Upadhyay, Head of Pakka Foundation, highlighted the significance of integrating life skills into education, while Deepali, Founder of Potli Productions, noted that storytelling connects emotions with learning, empowering participants. The initiative also included parent sensitization sessions to address cultural barriers and support children’s ambitions, paving the way for a comprehensive life skills curriculum aimed at enhancing employability and personal development for rural youth. The workshop received positive feedback, and the foundation plans to create a replicable model for broader implementation in other academic institutions.
