In the CPR session, Dr. Piyush Gupta explained how this life-saving technique can help when a person’s heart suddenly stops beating due to a stroke or any other serious condition. CPR is an emergency first-aid procedure that keeps blood flowing and provides oxygen when the heart and breathing have stopped.

Important Points About CPR:

Purpose of CPR – To maintain blood circulation and ensure oxygen supply to the brain and other organs.
How CPR Works – It involves pressing the chest repeatedly (chest compressions) and giving artificial breaths to restart the heart and breathing.
When to Perform CPR – When a person is unconscious, not breathing, or has no pulse.

Steps to Perform CPR:

  • Lay the person flat on a hard surface.
    • Tilt their head slightly backward to open the airway.
    • Press the chest firmly in the center 30 times (100-120 compressions per minute).
    • After every 30 compressions, give 2 mouth-to-mouth breaths.
    • Continue this process until medical help arrives.

CPR is a simple yet powerful technique that everyone should learn, as it can save lives in emergencies.
