It’s a pleasure to reconnect with you all through this article, especially as I have the opportunity to share the latest developments in our compostables business. As I sit down to write this on the eve of my Tamil and Malayalam New Year, it feels fitting to reflect on both the fresh beginnings and the moments of contemplation that come with this time of year.
In the last quarter, we had some exciting things happening to us. We participated in Aahar. The response was great and the sales team is super thrilled with all the leads. We had our first orders from Tacobell (this is a national account that our team had closed). We added salad days and caters-point to our list of esteemed customers. We started a new program called Regenerative Partnership where we would provide an end-to-end solution for customers including end-of-life solutions. The response to the idea has been great. Execution, like for any great idea, is the key and the team is up for it.
The team building is going well for us. We welcomed Anubhav Sharma our new National Sales Head, and Prisha Agarwal, our HR lead, and brought back our own Sumant Pai to take care of exports :). As far as the team goes we will go from strength to strength in the near fiscal as well.
Manufacturing remains a cornerstone of our success, with our tableware plant output nearing an impressive 10 TPD. Our production capacity has soared, thanks to enhanced efficiency, outsourcing initiatives, and the addition of new facilities. Such stellar performance, coupled with the sales team’s efforts, is reflected in our improving bottom line, reinforcing our profitability and outlook for the future.
Launching Chauser and the 360ml dine-in bowl has proven fruitful, with these products gaining traction in the market. Despite challenges posed by competitors’ aggressive pricing strategies, we see these headwinds as opportunities to innovate and expand our offerings. Indeed, we have exciting new products in the pipeline tailored for specific sectors, including entertainment, catering, and healthcare.
Expressing gratitude to our partners for their invaluable contributions, we’re excited to host them at our Ayodhya plant in April, strengthening our collaborative bonds. Moreover, with Sumant leading our export efforts, we’re eyeing entry into overseas markets, beginning with the Middle East and showcasing our offerings at the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago.
Indeed, a very busy summer ahead for all of us.
On the personal side, I have been super busy shuttling between the south and the north to ensure that I spend enough time with my daughter during her exams. Between her board exams, college entrance exams, summer camp, and an international basketball tournament in China my summer looks super packed.
I wish you all a great summer with a lot of family time and fun.
