“Every child around us should have access to quality education”.
- Sarita Upadhyay, Pakka Foundation
Namaskar,
As you already know, our sole aim is to transform lives through different initiatives. Our three main core areas of work revolve around education, employment, and ecology. We believe that “every child around us should have access to quality education”. Last month, we have done a study on Krishna Niketan and captured a few snippets from the parents of students. These stories inspired us to do more to improve these kids’ lives.
“My son is very conscious about any dirt or paper littering the floor. He not only wants it removed but he also makes sure that we have a dustbin and it is disposed of there,” -Mother of a child, currently studying at YVM after completing preschool at KN.
Mentioned below are some core parameters through which we would like to incorporate 12 competencies in our children:
- Physical & Moral Development
- Sensory, Perceptual and Cognitive Development
- Language, Literacy, and Communication
- Personal Social and Emotional Development
- Creativity
From rag picking to the stairs of the classroom:
Diya, a 13-year-old girl, resides in the Naka region with her mother. Long ago, her father passed away. She is from a family with few or no resources and unhygienic living conditions. She was a rag collector (chiffonier). She first struggled extremely to understand the concepts and information at the Naka School. She was eventually allowed to enroll in Delhi’s Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya. Nevertheless, thanks to the commitment of our teachers. She is in the eighth grade right now. Like her, we wish to see all those children holding great opportunities.
