Parts of EPABX
EPABX mainly includes lines and stations, and the lines are in contact with the PSTN, and has endpoints such as stations, desk phones, etc. The basic parts of EPABX are as follows:
Exchange – This is a large switching station that connects call and root internally or externally, it is the main part of the EPABX system.
Gateway – It connects the internal network to the outside world, it calls local public switched telephone network (PTSN) lines from the exchange unit.
Handsets − Handsets used with the EPABX system are provided with various specialized functions, they allow users to dial within extensions, use intercoms and other features provided to dial within the extensions, connect to external calls.
