Plastic and Resource Recovery

Over the last month Good Garbage has welcomed Elly Ventura and Erin Levine, Resource Recovery Managers from World Centric, and Sander Defruyt, the Plastics Initiative Lead at the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.

Both organizations are looked up to in the industry, and we’ve wanted them both represented on Good Garbage for quite some time. To get both of them in a row was very exciting!

Starting with World Centric – Elly and Erin are doing amazing work – including starting a podcast of their own! Called “More Than A Fork” they are bringing a lot of knowledge to the industry. But it starts with the work they’re accomplishing at World Centric, where Erin came up with the title of Resource Recovery Manager, after not being the biggest fan of her old title.

When her workload became too big – she created a second job, with Elly in mind. She brought Elly onto her team and the rest is history.

Sander on the other hand is doing important work – as he and his team are working on goals around the world to reduce plastic. Listen to his episode to get the latest on the global plastics treaty, the problems recycling causes and the work he is doing to transition the linear economy to a circular economy.
