This month Good Garbage searched for the solution to pollution – with a pair of great guests. Brad Laporte & Michael Winters of Wincup and Jennifer Trent & Linda Norris Waldt of the US Composting Council.
The Wincup team came on to talk about a number of products – but what drew them initially to us was the Phade straw. Phade straws are made from PHA, and fully compostable. They are a beautiful caribbean blue color, and are used in food establishments in the US like Dunkin Donuts and Burgerville. But beyond their straws, it was Wincups other products and mission that drew us in, and made for an amazing conversation.
Onto the US composting council, we had always wanted to talk composting with experts, and gain even more of an understanding for the end of life of compostable packaging. Both of them do such important work, and have a great understanding of policy in the United States, and what needs to happen for change to be possible. This was a fun conversation that covered a lot of important topics.
