Dear Team,
The work of establishing Pakka in America is underway. This month most of the work was done in that direction, and I would like to give you a quick detail about the work.
Team setup
Itziar took over the reins of the Guatemala office, and this will provide relief to Eduardo, and the pace of work here will improve. Recruitment agencies for both the Guatemalan and US teams have been finalized and many more will be joining them in the coming months.
America Office
We are determined that Pakka’s office will be in a city called Atlanta. It is considered a hub of pulp and paper and we can easily reach here from both Guatemala and Portland.
Market and Product
We finalized the consultants to find customers and do product trials. Jeremy has seen our Ayodhya plant and is impressed. They have strong connections in the area and introduced us to clients. We went to an exhibition called Pack Expo and we started idea destruction from many customers.
Company’s establishment and government contacts
We earmarked land for the plant and will buy approximately 150 acres of land here. The allotted land is connected to a sugar mill, and this will facilitate the transportation of sugarcane. I spent time here and felt like it was the right place for me. I hope that many of you will come here and contribute. For basic and detail engineering, ideas were rejected from many companies and elections should be held in the coming months. Pakka Company was established in Guatemala and bank accounts etc. were opened. With this, a new government is coming to Guatemala, and I met and discussed with the incoming Vice President and Economy Minister. The Volcano Summit, the largest event in Guatemala, also provided an opportunity to present their views and many people expressed their desire to work with him.
Financial system
The work of collecting finance is going on. Our partners Delphos provided an update on progress and expressed hope that we can begin finding equity partners in the next month.
Alliance
We continued to establish partnerships in many areas. Negotiations with Carvajal, Latin America’s largest paper company, for operations progressed, and the idea of cooperation in several areas began.
We are fully engaged in our efforts and are continuously moving ahead with the confidence that we will be able to fulfill the task that the universe has entrusted us with.
I am very happy and glad that you all are working with enthusiasm, which gives more strength to the morale to move forward. We all have to keep contributing in this way, so that we move towards the goal.
