It always gives me immense pleasure to share with you all about our work with the communities around us. Each day, we strive to impact the lives of communities positively.
Moving forward, I’m delighted to share that we have launched a new program, “Sarathi ”, to support women in learning & Earning in their villages. We believe in sustainable interventions, i.e. the impact remains even after we withdraw ourselves. The program started last month in Sanethu and Sirasinda villages. Over 50 women are registered in the program, learning to make Jute products for local and global markets. We have just started this program and are already seeing happiness, confidence and motivation in these women to work towards their financial independence. Sunita, one of the women getting trained at the centre, mentioned she never thought that work would come to her doorstep.
As we’re moving toward the end of the academic session, the placement season has started at Pakka Skills, and we are excited to welcome our industry partners for the campus placement drives. The admission process is in full swing, and we are also ready to welcome our new trainees. In this session, we are encouraging more girls’ enrollment to improve women’s participation in the workforce in the technical field.
At Pakka Skills, we are introducing a Bio-Plastic course in collaboration with IISC, Bangalore, this year.
Our Krishna Niketan schools are also preparing for the next academic year, and students are excited about their summer vacation. In the next couple of months, while schools are closed for the children, we will work with our knowledge partner’s teachers and academic staff to strengthen our unique Hub & Spoke model of schooling.
We are looking forward to another exciting year at the foundation. I am truly honoured to be a part of this fantastic journey with all of you. Together, we have created positive change and touched the lives of those in need.
